'Bullying' is a Excuse

Just because people let it pass for decades as 'its just teasing, you'll get over it,' doesn't mean that you'll get over it.

Constant bullying from peers can be psychologically damaging if not be life crippling, and people have yet to realize how much pain and suffering it causes one person.

If adults were to torment and harass their fellow co-workers, they would most likely be charged for harassment, if not a restraining order.

Why is it that schools do nothing about teenagers acting out violently upon other teenagers?

'Bullying' is more than just teasing and name calling, its victimizing and traumatizing, which is not something that we as human beings can just 'get over,'

If an adult were to physically attack another adult, they would be pressed with charges and be put in jail, but in the school systems, teachers and principles call it 'bullying,' and just say that 'kids will be kids,' and further more do nothing about it, only worsening the problem.

Bullying is not being treated as a crime, when it should be.

Am I the only one who feels this way? I understand that the case of bullying is more then skin deep, and is a result of intense insecurity and fear, and a child should not be arrested from acting upon these two deep emotions, but given great attention and help, because its the only thing that will make them stop, if their scream is finally heard.

Unknown Facts About Bullying

One thing you never hear on the news is about how many students drop out of school completely due to bullying.

Some might resort to homeschooling, although some do not, and never finish highschool. Already having low confidence and self-esteem, this can lead into poor job choices. I have met people in their mid to late 30's, if not 40's who have PTSD & Depression, have never been married, extremely reckless in their actions ( including  driving ), and claim that its all from the daily torment they dealt with in school.

This not only worsens our society, but with poor judgment mixed with recklessness, this only deepens our future generation into a downward spiral into a bad economy.

I am highly aware that you can not stop bullying 100%, but bullies also have issues of their own.

They suffer from low self-esteem and feel the need to inflict pain on others as scream for help. But the sign is misread and goes unheard, while the victim is also ignored and experiences deep suffering from their peers.

While the victim feels helpless, they result to suicide as they find it the only alternative for the pain to go away.

Teenagers are at greater risk to depression due to hormonal changes, and feel a great need and desire to be accepted by peers and everyone around them. With the lack of acceptance, and people continually harassing them for being different for physical appearance ( race, deformities, nationality, ect... ), sexual orientation, dressing differently, this can lead a young adult to depression along with intense anxiety.

This needs to stop now, our next generation is already showing clear signs of a lack of empathy, which results into criminal behavior, again, leading into poor choices along with a very high crime rate.
